Buffy: You tossed that vamp like he was a... little teeny vamp. Riley: You wanna go again? C'mon. I bet this place is just teeming with aerodynamic vampires.

The Minearverse 3: The Network Is a Harsh Mistress

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Jim Goad did a piece on prison rape in Answer Me! years ago that I remember reading. Will try and dig up...

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Right now, his mold to me (Firefly notwithstanding) is X-Files. So creepy, dark, FBI? Check.

Yep. When he appeared on Angel my reaction was "OMG, Knowle Rohr!"

Art Crawl!!!

Does anyone have a link to AB's post about being on "The Inside"?

I cannot for the life of me remember my username for the FF board!

D'oh! I hit post before I meant to: for "pretty high" substitute "100-150K." Because "pretty high" conveys nothing at all.

Ooo, you have Answer Me? I'm jealous.

I'm a big Jim Goad fan. Love his writing, even when he and his writing make me want to beat him to death with his own limbs.

Going back to the crime statistics for a moment...I feel like women are more likely than men to be the target of a serial killer. I mean, obviously, there have been cases where serial killers victimized men but they don't seem to be the norm.

Though that could be just my perception from watching too much A&E.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The wikipedia page said that serial killers were often sexually motivated -- this may account for much of the discrepancy in targets.

Or something. I have no lungs left, so I'm coughing out my brain.

If I only had a brain...

I was reading up on serial killers earlier this year. A lot of them focus on prostitutes, because when a prostitute drops out of sight, nobody (or nobody the police will pay attention to) notices or cares.

Very, very depressing.
