'Beneath You'

The Minearverse 3: The Network Is a Harsh Mistress

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Is teevee.org associated with Salon? They have the exact same look.

Are you sure this isn't a parody? Because otherwise it's really dumb.

Oh, duh.

I spent a good two minutes of my life trying to figure out if this was parody.... my brain is slow today...

Wait, I just realized I've read the Wonderfalls stuff here before... I think someone linked to it....

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Oh THANK GOD. I almost hurt myself.

I can't even.

psst, Allyson, note the date.

I hadn't seen this article. It's perfect in every way.

It is. They did a full issue of fake Salon for April Fool's -- including this spoof of the Salon article that was being talked about around then about "my novels don't get to the top of the bestseller list whinewhinewhile".

Oh yes! I read that and felt physical pain in my frontal lobes.

It's a brilliant thing, except that it sounds exactly like shit I get in email to Fury.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Allyson, what the hell are they trying to fix by breaking your jaw? I say leave well enough alone, but should your jaw become coincidentally broken, then let them at it.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Is it sad that some of it actually made sense? At least the point that both screenwriters and fanfic writers are using characters who aren't theirs?
