[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

The pilot is supposedly outstanding and groundbreaking and crabby and whatever, but the following eps get sexed-up underlings and generic crap like that.
Fox executives fuck something with potential up? No. Say it ain't so.
Just don't make it House/Grissom slash. eeeeeww, dang, I just went there in spite of myself.
Now to find some steel wool for my brain....
Here's that review I was talking about, with the notes.
Gotta love Tim Goodman. He calls 'em as he sees 'em.
I like House. I like his snarkiness and smartness. It's nice to see a character on TV who truly doesn't want to be liked. Also Hugh Laurie can ACT, baybee.
Also, we caption it, so we're a few weeks ahead and see the scripts along with the episodes--he stays plenty cranky and mean for at least the next six eps.

Damn it, Allyson. You made me snort wine.
OK, mental image. Not going anywhere.
The issue with House is that while I find the assholetastic lead character sort of entertaining to watch, the supporting characters are barely more than stereotypes. Also the medical leaps? Ludicrous. At least ER tries somewhat to approximate authenticity. Sort of.
I like House, but I think all the serial shows I watch have deadened me to procedurals. It just seems too damn predictable. Guy with mysterious disease - misdiagnose, misdiagnose, misdiagnose - stumble on to actual diagnosis - cure with a simple outpatient procedure or tomato juice.
I'll keep watching though.
I like that House himself is still unlikeable.

This is the very annoying part of the show. But I like the House character.
