The Minearverse 3: The Network Is a Harsh Mistress

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

Which is to say, being like *Spy Kids*? Not an insult.

I didn't mean Spy Kids was bad. I meant that the scene where the rest of the family goes to the remote island to rescue dad, and then mom gets separated and the kids are on their own, well it started to approach the same setup that the first Spy Kids had. IOW, been there, seen that.

That's not to say that I didn't do my share of eye-rolling during Spy Kids, because you bet I did. But an enjoyable movie, nevertheless.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

Love the reality show idea P-C. It would be like getting a "best bits" show; like picking the chocolate chips out of a muffin, or the really cheesy Doritos out of the bag, or adding LOTS of extra lemon to your salad.

Trust my rage

I just pre-ordered Wonderfalls (using the buffista link, BTW). According to amazon, the series stars Katie Finneran and some other people. WTF? Why isn't Caroline's name first?

Probably for the same reason that David Lynch's Dune "starred" Sting, and a whole bunch of other people nobody had ever heard of, all of whom had much bigger parts.

Except that, it's not like Katie Finneran is busting out all over in mega-stardom or anything, so we're back to WTF???

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I was about to say...

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Yeah, so far Rue McLanahan has been the biggest name I've seen associated with the show in front of the camera.

If I only had a brain...

I dunno. That wasn't a small gold lamé bat.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I have never been able to watch more than 15 minutes of Dune. Ever. I suddenly become 4 years old and must become distracted by lint on the floor, a sound outside, my own toes, whatever else is around.

I imagine that the psychological effect Dune has on me is what ADD must be like.

It has that effect on a lot of people.
