The Minearverse 3: The Network Is a Harsh Mistress

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Cereal: or do you mean the mid-season Fox part?

That's what I meant.

Here's some quotage from the Variety article:

Minear will write and film a new pilot for the series, which is being targeted for an early 2005 debut.

Fox execs have been high on the concept of "The Inside" and are said to be particularly confident in Nichols' status as a potential breakout star. The original pilot didn't wow execs, however, leading to the change in showrunners.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I'm really digging the broody, "I am an auteur" headshot.

Yeah! Another Tim show on FOX Fridays! ;)

Think this one'll last more than four eps?

Apart from sports, "my secret favorite thing on earth is ketchup. I will put ketchup on anything. But it has to be Heinz." - my husband, Michael Vartan

Well, whatever happens, I'll watch those three or four first episodes, and the dvd's later. If the show continues, I'll watch more than that. If it doesn't, that's a couple of hours of entertainment that I wouldn't have otherwise had, if Fox hadn't decided to give Tim another shot.

Oh no, only the real sweetest (that would be you Allyson), would think so. I have enough faith in Tim that my watching is rather far from being selfless. I know I will be entertained.

Unless, of course, somehow all the women are really close to the earth, or something. In which case, I will look forward to being entertained by the reactions people will post here.

What is even happening?

I'm really digging the broody, "I am an auteur" headshot.

Me, too. I clicked on the ad, so I could have access to the article, and went to get the kitchen to get more coffee. By the time I returned, the article and headshot were showing on my screen. From a far, I actually wondered if it the shot was of Marky Mark --I think it must have been Tim's eyes that put me in mind of the other fella. Then, as I got my own 37 year old eyes into the same room where the monitor was, I realized it had to be Tim.

Well, whatever happens, I'll watch those three or four first episodes, and the dvd's later. If the show continues, I'll watch more than that. If it doesn't, that's a couple of hours of entertainment that I wouldn't have otherwise had, if Fox hadn't decided to give Tim another shot.

Me, too. It's sad to me, that that's how I have to approach TV, now.

Tim, have you considered writing books?

Um.

Unless, of course, somehow all the women are really close to the earth, or something.

If one of the characters utters the "close to the earth" line, there's gonna be lots of COMM.

I'm with you and Cindy on the approach to watching network TV now. It's the only reason I'm giving "Lost" more than an hours viewing.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I don't speak Variety. What's a "skein"?
