But it did serve to put Hamilton over as a total badass, and AB fight scenes always rule because he's got the best worked punches this side of Harley Race. Fight scenes where he throws lot's of punches are even better.
Probably because he's been throwing punches as a professional actor since MY BODYGUARD.
I love, Love, LOVE the "apocalypse by inches" theory. It makes so much sense (and sort of reflects Angel being the more adult of the two shows conceptually).
Ha! Who the hell could? And we always used the sweetass backhand shot. It was always: Talk to the prisoner, get whatever he has, walk a couple steps, say, "Thank you," and blow him away.
Sadly, given recent events, I think some people translated this behavior 9or similar, at least) into real life.
Enh, there's tons of actors out there that have been throwing crappy punches onscreen forever. AB could throw his live and they'd still look good, I'm thinking. It's often hard to tell with actors, since editors tend to cut to another camera at the point of impact, but there's a lot of 'clean' shots in Firefly that support my theory.
I didn't like the slowed down fight scenes in TGiQ because the missing was so obvious.
True enough. Add that to the great many things I didn't like about TGiQ.
In one of the Firefly commentaries, NF points out that Adam Baldwin doesn't blink when he fires his gun, due to having a lot of experience with shooting. He says AB was the go-to guy for action scenes as he had done so many of them and really cared about them.

Probably, among other things, the result of having to shoot that big-ass gun in Full Metal Jacket for Kubrick for so many months (years?). I think Animal Mother's machine gun is one that's usually tripod-mounted, and, knowing Kubrick, it was probably the real deal.
Though it wouldn't surprise me if AB was a gun enthusiast to boot.
Go team Baldwin. I remember the gun thing from the commentary. I've next to no experience with guns myself, but apparently, not blinking is hard. Jackie Chan always used to fire a shot in the air to get used to the noise so he wouldn't blink.
It is a bit hard, though it helps to be aiming at something that distracts you from the noise.
My boyfriend: great at EVERYTHING!
