[NAFDA] This is where we talk about the show! Anything that's aired in the US (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though -- if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I whitefonted because while it's speculation, some of it touches on the 24 episode from last week, and I thought NAFDA was two weeks at least for shows not named in the thread?

But I'll go with whatever the consensus is.

Cindy, I usually hate the TWoP-Style nicknames, but for some reason the ones for 24 really make me laugh. Glad I could give Scott a chuckle.

Oh and I like his guess that they'll bring her to Plague Hotel. My prediction on that one is that Saunders has already somehow inoculated her.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

What's wrong with buying EW?

I subscribe. I love my EW. I even got my letter to the editor quoted a month ago. I was so happy.

brillig

The radio ads I'm hearing for 24 would bear out some of the whitefont. Whitefonted for the hell of it.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I even got my letter to the editor quoted a month ago.

Which issue? Which letter?

I adore EW. I realised I was getting jealous of Kat's copies, so I ponied up for a subscription.

Pick up #756, with Chris Rock on the cover, and turn to page 8.

Owen Glieberman and Lisa Schwarzbaum's debate of the great race also deserved ovations. Sunil Patel of Ann Arbor, Mich., says, "'Critic vs. Critic' was one of the most intelligent and thought-provoking pieces I've ever read in EW." The same couldn't be said for...

My comment was edited and streamlined, and it's only a tiny mention, but it was still pretty cool. I'm not counting it towards my Life Goal of getting mentioned in EW.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

my Life Goal of getting mentioned in EW.

My Life Goal is to go on Jeopardy! and harass Alex Trebek. For one thing, I'd pronounce his name "a-LEX" and say it all the time.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Gronk.

Last night my brain decided to fixate on a comparison between Lindsey and Alex Krycek. Here are the highlights: Both have ho-yay potential with the lead male (although Krycek's remained more sub than text); both had a wooden hand (too bad Krycek didn't get his replaced with an evil hand - that would've been fun!); you never know which team either character is playing for (so to speak) at any given time; and if I am reading the previews right Lindsey might be going out the same way Krycek did.

Ooh. That's really interesting, aurelia. Hmm. Never thought about that.

Krycek's motivations are even hazier than Lindsey's though. He certainly doesn't have the personal grudge to go after Mulder that Lindsey does for Angel - it's more like motivationless malignity.

Also, weren't there two Krycek's? Was the one who got trapped in the Russian ship the same one who seemed to be an alien? And then didn't seem to be an alien?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

No, no, only one Krycek. Who was infected with the black oil for a while.
