Thinking back to the pratfalls and girlish screams of early Wesley, not to mention that horrible, HORRIBLE tape in "Blood Money" (You think you know from scary videotapes, Samara? Guess again!), I'm inclined to agree with you connie.
I'd agree too. Plenty of opportunity to do comedic eps on a one-hour drama anyway(Guise Will Be Guise being a good example, I think) but not so much opportunity the other way with a half-hour comedy.
I have fear that AH's influence with him may be larger than our own.
Hmm. We should work on changing that.
Ideas?
I MUCH prefer scruffy dangerous Wesley. The pratfalls and silliness made me cringe, never laugh.
I like the scruffiness and danger w/ the pratfalls and silliness hidden in there and occasionally making their presence felt.
That way he kinda reminds me of me. Except for the dangerous part (I'm just scruffy w/ pratfalls and silliness).
AD is too good looking to do full-on funny without having to go for dorky, unless it's the wry, snarky funny that presumes the character has a brain. Most funny guys that I can think of on TV are basset hound types--loveable, kind of clueless, kind of clumsy. The kind of guy who gets the girl that says "I just want a guy who makes me laugh."
Wesley slipping and missing the whole battle in Graduation Day makes me laugh.
I love both Wesleys, though I hated him until he came to Angel. The rogue demon hunter stuff made me laugh myself silly.
