But if you can't use Buffy you don't get the HSQ of Buffy turning up in the alley with Faith, Willow and 400 Slayers 10 seconds after that freezeframe.
I would really hate that scenario.
[NAFDA] This is where we talk about the show! Anything that's aired in the US (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though -- if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.

Wrod. Angel does not need his butt saved by Buffy.

I wouldn't look at it that way. The dude clearly needed backup in that scene. It's not like he's a damsel in distress.

My issue with it is simple. Show not called Buffy.

So? Had it been Illyria or Faith or Nina or anyone else would you have the same issue? Wait, was Illyria there?

Illyria was there. Illyria and Nina were characters on Angel the show. They were part of it. Bringing in Buffy would have been, to me, very Deus ex Machina.
Wait, was Illyria there?
Yep. And I'd lay odds on her surviving, at least, given what she can do to a car.
Illyria, Nina, Lilah, Kate the Cop, Gwen the Electro-Girl--I was seriously expecting her somewhere in there.
That, I guess, is just a difference in view - Angel was always a spinoff, to me, and it seemed right that the parent show should re-enfold it at the end. It's the Buffyverse, not the Angelverse.

Hmm. Even Joss said, around the time of S4 Buffy/S1 Angel, when Faith woke up from the coma and went to LA, that that was the point at which he considered Angel to be its own show, standing on its own, though some of the characters had a shared history with Buffy.
