Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

Heading to Costco tonight to pick up AtS, S4. Brought the car to work instead of walking, just so I can go get it. I love me some Angel.

Amazon sent my dvds UPS instead of USPS which means that I won't get them 'til Monday. If they deign to leave the package for me. I wonder if I leave a big sign on my door: UPS GUY PLEASE LEAVE THE PACKAGE AGAINST MY DOOR if they'll do that.

I hate UPS.

Sumi, I'm the exact opposite of you -- mine went USPS, and I loathe USPS because their tracking system is a joke.

USPS always gets it to me two days later -- I could totally expect to have it tomorrow if it was US Mail.

Wondering if it would be very wrong of me to call in sick for UPS? I mean, I have scads of sick time.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Once you have the tracking number, you might be able to divert it to your office by contacting them. Not likely in the days of Homeland security, I guess, but worth a shot.

No, because we are not allowed to have UPS deliver to the office -- it would have to go to Central Receiving which would delay it further since it isn't addressed to my department address but to my home address.

Amazon did the same thing to me. And, sadly, they won't leave it unless you're there. I arranged for it to be held so I can pick it up, but if I didn't have a car that wouldn't be feasible, given that they seem to locate their warehouses as far from the reach of the non-driving public as possible.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

they seem to locate their warehouses as far from the reach of the non-driving public as possible.

And like to close them on Saturday, at least here. I hate getting shipments from UPS. USPS, FedEX -- wonderful. I can pick up within either walking distance or 15 minutes. UPS is across town, during trafficky hours.

Well, last time I had a UPS package -- they made two attempts, I told them to leave it with my upstairs neighbor and they did. They didn't get a signature, they just left it in front of their door.

Now, why would they do that for somebody else but not for me?
