Does anyone know anything about the maker?
Yeah. It's a bit pricy, but I'd love one too.
Whoever makes it is using a pattern that's neither the original used on the show nor the near life-sized one that appeared in the dealers' room for Flashback weekend in may.
Per the latest on line tvguide, "Angel" was cancelled because 20th Century Fox (the studio that owned the series), wanted theWB to commmit early to a renewal for a 6th season:
DEATH OF AN ANGEL
This is going to hurt Angel fans.
Twentieth Television's request for WB to commit early to another season of Angel might have led to its cancellation.
Ancier said had the studio been willing to wait until May — when WB executives set the fall schedule — there was a decent chance Angel might have been back for another season. Angel was a perennial "bubble" show. In the three seasons it was renewed, the decision was made in May after new pilots had been viewed and a fall schedule was set. That might have been the same case this year.
"The mistake that was made between us and Twentieth was that we didn't wait until May, we just made the decision early based upon their request," he said.
I dunno if I believe this or if it's just spin after the fan/critic backlash and the fear that theWB may not have anything better for that slot in the fall.
Well, when they were asked early (by Joss, right?) if Angel was gonna be back, they could have said, "We just don't know now--you'll have to wait until May after we've seen the pilots." If pushed, they could have said, "If you need the answer now, it's 'no.' If you can wait until May, we'll see."
I think they're just trying to pass the blame onto ME like you said.
It's not that far from what Joss said, although he put himself in the role that 20th is in, in that article, Narrator. I seem to recall saying Joss asked to know early, so that his people would have plenty of time to find a new gig.

By the by, according to another comment on the site, the WB's remake of Dark Shadows did not get picked up because, Ancier says, the production just didn't "gel."

I'm not sure this bothers me. Half the fun of DS is the cheesiness. And I suspect this remake (like the earlier one) would lack that.
OTOH, I still haven't forgiven SciFi for dropping DS from its schedule.
I'm going to have to concur. It sounds like WB is being a teenager/demented person saying "You *made* us do it! You *made* us!"
Hey! Numberslut 2k!
