the WB's remake of Dark Shadows did not get picked up because, Ancier says, the production just didn't "gel."
I'm not sure this bothers me. Half the fun of DS is the cheesiness. And I suspect this remake (like the earlier one) would lack that.
OTOH, I still haven't forgiven SciFi for dropping DS from its schedule.
I'm going to have to concur. It sounds like WB is being a teenager/demented person saying "You *made* us do it! You *made* us!"
Hey! Numberslut 2k!
Read this story about how the WB wants to get a few older viewers watching this season...
Odd, seeing that Joss said one of the reasons they got cancelled is that they were too "old" for the network.
This just infuriates me to no end.
Yarr. There are
Smallville
spoilers in that link, so be forewarned.
Too late.
Yeah. Luckily, the one in the caption isn't too unsettling, and I'd heard the rumors about the one at the bottom already.

Well I didn't know the second one, but honestly I couldn't care less. It's not like it wasn't in-freakin-evitable.
See, my view is that the folks at theWB thought one vamp show was as good as another. Then "Dark Shadows" turned out to have sucked not gelled, and somebody had some 'xplaining to do.
That article mentions something really specific that
can't
happen on Smallville because "Warner Bros. must avoid story conflicts with a future Superman movie in the works."
WTF? The Superman movie is a continuation of Smallville? And they're actually worried about continuity? Since when?
It's hilarious, Jon. It makes me think that Lex will always be leaving a room when Lois enters, like the Snuffelupugus, and Lois will keep accusing Clark of having a homoerotic imaginary friend fantasy.
Smallville spoiler above in whitefont.
