I don't feel that sad for the contributors to SavingAngel, though. Margot and the others, while far more optimistic than I, never promised anything they couldn't deliver. All they could do was draw increased visibility to the show's cancellation, and they always seemed clear (to me, anyway) that success would be the longest of shots. They provided a way for fans to make their voices heard, which is all anyone could reasonably ask for.
SaveAngel seemed from the start to be much more about the organizer's ego than about any goals that would benefit fandom.
The secondary virtue of fan campaigns - even with a lost cause like Angel - is that it makes clear that ME has a big and avid fanbase. Which I have to think is a factor in greenlighting decisions for Serenity or looking at a Buffy animated series. Things like that.

I tend to not be interested in fanfuffles, but this makes me laugh and laugh- from a link at the beginning:
nameremoved: I also disagree with profiting from the fans. This is something that I don’t agree with.
Who knew Mojo Jojo was a fan of Angel?
Who knew Mojo Jojo was a fan of Angel?
Heh. He probably has the hots for Fred/Ilyria.
Potentially spoilery -- if you want to be ignorant of how things went down in the alley, stay away.
Thanks for the warning. What's the gist--that there might be four Angel made-for-TV movies? (My guess.)
