Look, Angel, I know you've been out of the loop for a while, but I'm still evil. I don't do errands...unless they're evil errands.

Remember, remember/the fifth of November/the Gunpowder Treason and Plot/I see no reason/Why Gunpowder Treason/Should ever be forgot.

The Punisher is clearly evil. At least, so says the Knights of the Old Republic-conditinoed kliling people of is of the Dark Side-me. He kills EVERYBODY who even begins to commit a 'crime'.

Well, depends on the crime. He doesn't shoot jaywalkers anymore.

Though he is amoral to the extreme. In the latest issue of Punisher, he kills a very old ally, because he was tangentially related to a scheme to finance the war on terror using heroin.

Hey. New board.

I admit to knowing very little about The Punisher. Or X-Men, or Spidey, or Marvel in general. I'm a DC man by trade (when I read mainstream comics at all.) I'm basically basing my Punisher opinions on what I've hard and read from second-hand sources, and you can feel free to ignore me.

On the other hand, I think guns are for pussies. Cool superheroes use their fists. Or lightsabers.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

The GL corps may keep order in most of the universe, but in the Earth of the DC Universe, we've got Superman and Batman to control things. Fuck our own personal GL.

The corps got massively fucked a while back. Ties into why Hal went batshit.

So, NSM for order, order in the universe at the moment. Though after his stint as Ion, Kyle went with the making things better.

Sure, he doesn't have powers, but he's got a butler, a motorbike, a car, a submarine and jetplane. He's got a multi million dollar corperation, the best gadgets money can buy, one of the best PC's on the planet, he's buddy'd up to the commish, and therefore enjoys tacit approval from the cops. Compare that to say, Spidey. Powers, yes, but who has it easier?

The commish retired after being shot. The GCPD crew is wary and resents him. His family, such as it is, is a mess of emotional issues in part because Batman can't open up to them. He has almost no relationship with himself as Bruce Wayne. He's recently hosed a relationship he could have had with Selina. They have it rough in different ways.

Bet he'd kill the Joker, if given a chance, but that's a personal opinion.

He's had chances. He hasn't. Though Dick did, that one time. Just for a second.

Okay. I bow to your superior knowledge. (shrug)

Hey, speaking of Batman, he's a lot like that Angel fellow, huh? Dark, mysterious, related to bats somehow? (I hear bats and vampires are related).

Still want more Angel.

Strawberry disappointment.

Yeah, but Batman had a gay sidekick, whereas Angel just had Spike.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Sure, but The Donald wouldn't be much of a secret identity.

Beg to differ -- Bruce Wayne is usually presented as a pretty-boy airhead, over the course of history. A pretty-boy airhead who inherited his money, and I should think Batman would be smart enough not to get himself a network television show.

How you can maintain the vapid-playboy image in these days of Paris Hilton, and still avoid publicity, I don't know.

Oh my god, Athina Onassis is Batman!!

What is even happening?

Was anyone here into Gargoyles? I wasn't. But it looks like the creator, Greg Weisman, is one of us. I have never seen Gargoyles, but a friend linked this, elsewhere. Weisman is large with the Josslove, and makes a decent (and non-ass-kissy) comparison between the A:ts and BtVS series finales.

It's the second entry down from the top (time stamp: Thursday, May 20, 2004 04:59:01 PM).

WARNING, the top entry (Monday, May 24, 2004 05:18:21 PM) looks like it contains current season (near the end or end) spoilers for JoA and GG.

Now, from the one of us entry:

Just a couple years ago, I was in Whedon heaven. Buffy. Angel. Firefly. And any minute the Buffy Animated Series (which I was SO dying to work on, but couldn't even get my foot in the door) and Ripper. How did five series (four set in the Buffyverse) drop down to zero in just 18 months?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The Punisher is mostly just annoying.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Yeah, but Batman had a gay sidekick, whereas Angel just had Spike.

After "Origin," I envisioned this whole S6 where Connor sneaks away from college/his family to patrol with Angel, a la Bats and Tim Drake.

Dude. Still want that.

Strawberry disappointment.

See, the only thing I know about comics is that DR and Quinch totally rocked.
