Laughing way too hard to even pretend to be working. This:
I hate the Green Lantern. Doesn't a small boy ride on his back for no apparent reason?
The only way it could be funnier is if it said, "I hate the Green Lametard".
and this:
ita: Why not have an extra-strong telepath with control of land and sea animals on your team? PMM: Because he's an insufferable asshat? And because his classic costume has a boat neck?
I'm crying over here people. I can't take it!
BTW, hey Strega! Glad you posted! We like & respect you too, even if we bash your recaps sometimes. Your shoutout (I just typoed "shoutpout") made me go all warm & fuzzy inside. Strega & Allyson - together, they fight crime lameness! You guys would make the most asskickingest team ever.
[stopping the asskissing now.]
The other monkey does, though. The monkey that hangs with Space Ghost and the two space kids.
Brak does wear a mask. Not sure I'd call Zorak or Moltar kids, though.
ducks and runs away
And who is the guy in the JL cartoon who speaks alien or something?
J'onn, maybe? The Martian Manhunter, voiced by Carl Lumbly who plays Dixon on Alias.
Honestly, if someone gave me a green lantern ring I'd take that too. I'd be able to fly, understand any language, survive in hostile environments, and make things with my mind.
Oh, me too. I actually kind of dig GL a lot, to be honest. I mean, I've spent most of this week bitching that you can't find good sterling GL ring repros in chick sizes, and I know the oath, plus, err... my GL collection is kind of large. It's not Batfam in size, but it's larger than my GA collection.
I'm all kinds of nervous about the "Serious" Space Ghost mini that's coming out. It seems like a train wreck waiting to happen.
I haven't read GL in a while, but for a while I was a Kilowog fangirl and adopted "Poozer" into my vocabulary in quite a while.
Currently my love is an animated one.
There are so many lame heroes that I think GL gets an unfair shake.
That picture is priceless!
I too am a GL fan, just for the record.
GL seems to be well liked. My husband's family was visiting this past Saturday so we stopped in at the huge Toys R Us in Times Square and they had a pretty nice superhero area with these framed cartoon images from the JL. My husband ran straight for the GL one.

Winick did wonders with Kyle. And John, for that matter. Which means, of course, I'm actually invested in
who dies in Identity Crisis, just in case it's Kyle,
which seems likely.
Never read the comics. Thought the old Super Friends GL was lame but the current animated JLA GL kicks ass. Though the fact that his name is John Stewart always gives me pause since my first association of that name is with the comedian. Agree with ita's assessment, though, that if he had the yellow weakness he'd just beat the yellow-wearing mook senseless with his fists or other handy objects.
