hip deep in pie

To put my two cents in, I miss the TV talk in natter. I rarely ventured into the experimental threads, because I feel like I'm at the limit of the number of threads I can follow. And though it may defy logic, I'd rather have one long digressy, white-fonted flowly thread than several short choppy threads to read.

Also, I voted that I watched TV when something was on, which is true. But I later realized that it doesn't reflect how I use the threads and talk about TV here because many shows are ones that I see at different times that most, even being months behind.

Hey, is there a technical reason Lightbulbs hasn't been opened yet?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's open now.

Oh, I picked "ticky box" because there was no "none of the above" option, and I wanted to be counted as a non-excluded-but-still-interested poster.

Me, too.

I don't really have a horse in the race for the decision about continuing the various experimental threads—most everything I care about discussing falls into the Boxed Set ouvre anyway. But one thing I did note was that, to my eyes, there was almost no interest in talking about any network comedies other than The Office. Rather than restarting a general comedies thread it might be better to have a dedicated thread for that show if the total discussion was enough to warrant thread creation.

I noticed this too and agree that The Office fans out there would certainly be justified in proposing that it have its own thread. Of course, I assume there won't be new episodes until the fall, right?

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

I thought "How I Met Your Mother" generated some discussion. Not as much as "The Office," but still significant.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

There may be discussion of Venture Brothers. I don't think we should create threads on the basis of potential discussion, but I'm not sure we need to cut the rest of the benign comedy discussion out of the (potential) thread when the Office isn't threatening to take over.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So, after about 90 people voting, 35% said "Discussing TV shows in Natter excludes me from the discussion," 14% said "Discussing TV shows in the experimental threads excluded me from the discussion," and 7% said "Other current TV threads exclude me from the discussion."

43% said their tv watching "varies -- sometimes closer to airing, sometimes well after." 23% said "Mostly as shows air, or same-day."
