I go online sometimes, but everyone's spelling is really bad. It's... depressing.

Art Crawl!!!

Everytime I see an ad for Rescue Me I think about how much fun it's going to be to talk about it in the Exp Cable Drama thread and then I remember that they're gone in June and get sad.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I feel the same way about The Closer.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I will certainly be up for discussing both those shows!

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

For what it's worth, I don't think Supernatural can or will support its own thread. I know there's a burst of SPN dedicated posts occasionally, but with the "start" and "end" posts, disinterested people can avoid them. Realistically, though they may annoy some, there aren't enough posts to support a thread.

I just checked, and it looks like we're back up on the old system. Nothing has changed.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

DCJ mentioned that during the site-out he was starting to get organised at PeoplesForum. I forget the order of our lines of defense.

PF irritates the hell out of me these days, and I think I don't even have an ID over there anymore.

Here's the text from support:

It should be up now. We ran into a problem with the migration. The utility that converts the backup from the 7.5.4 based server to the 8.1.1 server failed. Now that we have a 7.5.4 backup from your server we can use that to debug the problem with the conversion utilitity. Once we have that issue resolved, we'll plan another live data migration. This utility is new to Plesk 8.1.1 and probably has a few kinks that need to be worked out.

I think it's getting to the point where it would be easier for us to do a backup, they do a clean install, and then we recover everything ourselves.

Let me talk to them about that.

Okay, found out why it failed--there's a table in the MySQL databases with a period in it, and all the MySQL utilities are balking at it--it's what frelled the upgrade.

I don't actually think it's one of ours, but I'll have to make sure.
