brillig

I see a large difference in how Bones is handled now than in Natter in that a post I'm commenting on is probably only 15 or so posts back, rather than 150 posts back. It's a more focused discussion rather than hoping to attract the attention of other Bones viewers between discussion of babies, moving, recipes, etc.

I wasn't anticipating anything more in-depth, but is nice to have more focus.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I don't know that the threads are "working," really. I mean, depending on what the goal was, I guess. There's not really any in-depth discussion, and I don't know that there's all that much more discussion of these various shows. Now, I can see it working for people who don't want to deal with Natter, because it's concentrated in one place (four places, whatever), but I don't see much substantive difference in what's happening now in these threads and what used to happen in Natter, whitefonted.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

And I dislike the experimentals because the TV discussion where I wouldn't get spoiled has dwindled down to nothing. So I have less TV to talk about.

This is me as well.

Our wings are not tired

I'm having the opposite experience. I've actually been talking about TV on b.org in the Non-Fiction thread. It's the first time I've actually talked about TV here in ages.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

I like the Experimentals thus far. I like that I can pick up the discussion pretty easily, even if I'm behind on a show. I can deal with not going into a thread for a couple days before I get to watch the show, because I just pick up and talk about whatever shows I've watched that week in one or two major posts.

I don't read Non-fiction, 'cause I don't watch reality shows right now. And I have posted in Cable Drama 'cause I'm behind on the Riches and I want to talk about that when I have all the knowledge. But the Comedy and Network Drama threads are places I tend to frequent.

What is even happening?

In reality, it doesn't matter if the thread serves my tv viewing needs. I don't really need to discuss tv and my inability to do so in natter does not diminish my enjoyment of natter nor of the show. So I guess if it serves everyone else's needs, more power to you all.
That shouldn't have happened. I made sure to specify in the proposal that TV talk would still have a home in Natter.

The shoo-ers should have been shushed. I'm sorry, Kat. There are enough of us who aren't using the experimental threads, that I think there must be people who would be grateful for Natter talk.

i'm very happy with the Experimentals because i like reading what everyone here has to say about various shows and i just cannot keep up in Natter for that to be feasible if/when the Experimentals go away. i have had to stay out of the Comedy or Drama threads at different times because i don't see certain shows right away, but once i watch it's relatively easy to get caught up.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I made sure to specify in the proposal that TV talk would still have a home in Natter.

The shooers may have been trying to be helpful. Thing is, Kat and I seem to be the only ones who wanted to talk GA who weren't in the Drama thread, so it barely mattered.

No, that's a little too much--my bald comments about the quality of the ep got responses, but definitely no actual discussion.

once i watch it's relatively easy to get caught up.

TiVo's to blame for my inability to go in--I catch up asymmetrically. I'm rarely up to date on all dramas at once (some I save in blocks).

Ann, that's a ferret.

ND is me. Except I've been talking on the Comedy thread.

I'd like to keep talking about The Office next season. As long as I can do that, structuring of threads is a secondary consideration.
