I think the discussions of the various shows is actually improving because we've got more breathing room. I've noticed that the Non-Fiction thread has had several mentions of cross-pollination as people talk about shows others mention.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

For technical reasons, we're going to be upgrading the hardware and OS that the board's running on. Jesse has confirmed that we have the funds to pay iStrata to do this, so now I want to go ahead and negotiate a downtime.

I've sent an email asking what hours they are able to do this, so we can find the least invasive time for it. But it has to be in about the next three weeks.

I love the Nonfiction thread. I don't worry at all about spoilage in non-plotty shows, and I'm really enjoying the conversations.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I like all of the new threads, even though I know the point of them is really not to keep them. The only problem I have is that I wish Network Drama was 24 hour whitefont.

i'm actually kind of wishing that too, sj. i only voted for whitefont in the cable thread, but i'm sensing a future issue with my not getting to see shows like GA on the night they air(because of all the other tv that night) are going to keep me out of the thread until i see them. it was much the same problem with me and Boxed Set when i wouldn't watch BSG or whatever when it aired.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

I'm loving the comedy thread, as there's Office love, and love for other shows I've not checked out before which I probably will now.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Yeah. I immediately had to unsub from the Drama thread because I'm behind on House, and then from the Comedy thread because I was behind on Earl and Scrubs.

has there been Scrubs and Earl talk? it's mostly been Office (both US and UK) talk from what i've seen. not that there won't be, of course. at least comedies are relatively easy to get caught up on since they're only a half hour.

there's a question that keeps popping up in the drama/comedy thread about where people think Ugly Betty falls. what's the general consensus?

iStrata reports that they don't like to start upgrades later than 8pm Pacific. They will do a pre-upgrade survey to give an estimate of the duration.

How does Saturday evening sound?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I would consider it a drama due to the length (are there many hourlongs that are very clearly defined as comedies?), but I've never seen it.
