Jessica, you had to search without the "G" and only in Wisconsin.

So I bought the basic report and have a confirmed address, no phone number, in Cameron, WI. He's a real person, or at least has a real address with relatively current utility bills.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

KristinT's company is obviously better than mine.

Actually, I did a reverse phone# search on the number on the domain registration (which is the same number Gus gave me).

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Ah, okay -- it wasn't letting me search without something in the first name field for some reason.

[Now I see, it was defaulting to "background check" even though I was in the "people search" tab. Weird.]

Jessica, here's the list we're getting.

That link comes up with an empty search form.

eta: OK, I did a search and found the Guy Straley in Cameron.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I'm planning on calling them and asking if a Guy Straley of Cameron, WI has passed away in the last month. If they can't tell me, I think I will request a death certificate.

That could take 3-6 months. [link]

Here's the thing. I could get more info after this initial step--date of birth and public records included. However, it's $49.95. $8 was one thing, but $49.95...I'm tempted to do it just to get the answers and let everyone either let go or mourn in peace, but I'm torn.

Heh. I was just at the same site. You can get a expedited search (by fax) in about seven days, or an in-person request in an hour or so....

Huh. I suppose I could ask my sister to do it in person....

Would that include death? Esp. a recent death?

I don't know. I've never done this before.
