Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

So no one ever talked to Gus on the phone or met him then?

Nope.

What was that weird 4th of July thing where people were invited to his place but he disappeared?

Heh - I mentioned that upthread. He was in Switzerland and forgot about it. That's when he adopted the "sheepish weremonkey" tagline.

He was supposedly in Korea during that time. He apologized for forgetting when he "came back." Damn well ought to have since I bowed out of the annual family pilgrimage to Door County for it.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

What was that weird 4th of July thing where people were invited to his place but he disappeared?

Speaking just to this one issue, that never really pinged me as weird because it just seemed more like one of those things htat happen all the time where you toss an idea around but it just never goes anywhere. There was no Flanvention or whatever going on there.

Damn well ought to have since I bowed out of the annual family pilgrimage to Door County for it.

Or, perhaps I wasn't paying very much attention. Nevermind.

Oh, Korea. OK. That rings a bell.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Damn well ought to have since I bowed out of the annual family pilgrimage to Door County for it.

See it's because of stuff like this that knowing the truth does matter.

There are real world consequences to the untruths.

That's what I eventually took it for, but I was very disappointed at the time it didn't happen. Ultimately, it was nice spending a long weekend by myself with no expectations.

I was under the impression that it was a definite thing. I remember I was going to drive up in my Mercury and I was scrambling around trying to get my rebuilt carb to work.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I don't like that coinage because there's no verbal distinction.

I've always seen/heard it as "pseudicide", if that helps. Anyway, sockpuppet has a perfectly useful meaning that doesn't require faking death.

Our wings are not tired.

Cindy, Raq did mention in Bitches that she had been looking for a response from Gus in email. Raq "Spike's Bitches 33: Weeping, crawling, blaming everybody else" Jan 1, 2007 11:26:09 am PST I don't know if anyone else had written to him recently. Apparently none of us ever talked to him or met him IRL.
