I happen to be very biteable, pal. I'm moist and delicious.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

(Hec and Polter-cow fight CRIME! Hee! But which one is the sidekick?)

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Hec's the one with charisma. But I've got the wisecracks. We're more of a duo. Like Batman and...Batman Prime.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Had he mentioned her before?

I've been assuming that she's his 'goilfriend' - he's mentioned her a lot.

Yeah, I think I remember that term, but I don't know if he'd mentioned anything else about her. Like I said before, I had thought "kimi" was a known entity before she announced the news, so I didn't question it.

Gus told us that he was 18 when Seamus was born.

Elsewhere, things he said led Buffistas to conclude he (Gus) would now be around 70 years old. I can't tell how old Seamus is in that picture, but it does not look to me as though Seamus is in his mid-forties.

No, he looks late twenties.

Sigh. This does not look good for Homestar Runner.

Also, I've known people who apparently were pathological liars or something, and I've seen them have stories of rather strange things happening to them, which they reused (happening at a much later date) in a different social context.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I'd like to agree with everything Nilly said except for one thing. I don't think we're going to find out more than we already have.

Either Gus died or he tired of the persona. Either way, what can we do other than say goodbye?

IIRC he mentioned early twenties back when he was jokingly talking about fixing Seamus up with ita. Or maybe it was mid-twenties....

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Either way, what can we do other than say goodbye?

Very true. It's just that, for some people, it means the difference between genuine grieving and just saying goodbye. There are lots of former Buffistas whose electrons I'd like to see again (Madrigal, Knut, Rebecca Lizard), but I didn't have to mourn for them.

And -- I think Cindy mentioned this upthread -- a lot of Buffistas right now already have significant upsetting events in their lives that they're dealing with, and adding the potential of false grieving on top of that is just beyond the pale.

Yeah, anything in the twenties works.

I don't think we're going to find out more than we already have.

That is a point. Unless he makes a triumphant return, as sometimes happens in these cases. Although I think some of the suggested actions (a wake thread, a donation to charity) would not seem as appropriate for, basically, Leaving the Board. Not that donating to charity can be inappropriate, per se, but it's the principle of the thing. I think people want to know. And at least try to know.
