A good example, though, of how the filter humor could be a lot of fun rather than Stompable, IMO.
I agree that really threatening someone with a filter is rude. Joking about it seems harmless enough to me.
A thread to discuss naming threads, board policy, new thread suggestions, and anything else that has to do with board administration and maintenance. Guaranteed to include lively debate and polls. Natter discouraged, but not deleted.

This. And even if joking about it gets taken wrong and ruffles feathers (as it surely will it at some point), it's still far less harmful than specifically legislating "you are not allowed to say xyz" on this board -- for any value of xyz, not just filtering.
And thus our little morality tale is now complete.

woh-pah!
t takes a bow
Got it. The official code for "that is a filter up your butt" is "woh-pah".

If I use this as my tag line, is that demon like behavior?
Maybe it's these new tinted glasses, but I think in most cases (not counting stuff like filtering people just to manage to keep up with the board) it's going to be obvious which individuals and which situations are about to/recently did result in filtering.
And as a Usenet user, despite no one having maligned it, I do still wanna say that A) most newsgroups aren't as tightly knit a community as this board is/can be, and B) given the threaded, ask-respond nature of Usenet, it can be considered more of a courtesy to announce a filtering, so that no one is left wondering if something is just wrong with their news server.
("woh-pah!"?)
(edit: didn't need to be said.)
Due to coversation in Natter: Possibly the FAQ could stand to be updated with AIFG specifically. Or at least, the little link at the top of the page should be "AIFG" instead of "I'm (x)ing right now!"
