If there's no calendar for new activity, I vote close, but don't archive, so it can be reopened if there's anything that's going to provoke a flurry.
I second this.

A thread to discuss naming threads, board policy, new thread suggestions, and anything else that has to do with board administration and maintenance. Guaranteed to include lively debate and polls. Natter discouraged, but not deleted.

Speaking of threads and closing -- did the revival of Book Club work?
It was not a raging success, no. A couple of us talked about a few Sherlock Holmes stories, but we ran out of steam before we got to The Hound of the Baskervilles. I'd be willing to give it another shot in the arm after the holidays, but I don't know if it's ever going to see a lot of activity.
Unless we all started reading pictorial essays about slash, or something.
Now I'm feeling all guilty because I was very excited about the Book Club thread and then rarely participated. Bad member. I'll have to go back and resub.
It was ticking along quite nicely for a while, there.

Same here. I wanted to do a graphic novel next, but was waiting until my end-of-the-year-work-craxiness calmed down a bit. But if folks want to close it, I'm not going to object. Just be a little sad.

This is me. Hell, I recommended The Hound of the Baskervilles and didn't even show up for discussion.
Still, more than willing to try again.
I want to talk about Hound.
edit because there was only one Hound. Or not, depending on how you count.
My first dog was named Baskerville. German Shepherd stray (in Manhattan of all places) who howled all night the first couple of weeks.
Walking my current dog the other night, an old lady muttered "Hound of the Baskervilles" as we passed her.

Not to be argumentative, but then why didn't you (all)?
It seems like the only time interest in the thread gets revived is when the question of keeping the thread open comes up here. Maybe it's time to just chalk this up as something that didn't work, for whatever reason(s).
Goodbye and Good Riddance for 2005 is up.
