Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I'm not sure what happens when the poster decides to leave the community before 10 secondses are posted. Anyone?

People leave and come back and leave and come back. I think a warning is a warning and how a person responds to it is their own business.

I agree a warning is in order, is "sheesh, learn to apologize for fuck's sake" a warning?

So I guess that makes me fourth, or fifth.

I'd like to ask that we try not to let this escalate. If the response to a warning is a snotty post I suggest we let that slide in a heat-of-the-moment way. If the response is a succession of snotty posts that's a different thing but I think any cooling-off period we can muster would be a good idea.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I can't even remember if we need secondses in order for someone to be warned.

Our wings are not tired.

Well, if you want to be all reasonable and stuff.

(that was directed to Trudes)

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

So I guess that makes me fourth, or fifth.

And me a fifth or sixth.

I don't want Susan or dw to leave the community, and I'm sad that they felt they had to, but I also think we need to complete the process.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

As far as I remember, the procedure is that if ten Buffistas feel a person needs to be warned, a Stompy Foot, posting under an "Stompy Foot" ID will post a warning.

Oh, then count me as a second. (Which would make me, what? A seventh?)

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I'm not sure what happens when the poster decides to leave the community before 10 secondses are posted. Anyone?

We go through with the process anyway. It's not like the online world has no precedent for people raising a kerfuffle, flouncing off before anyone can object in a way that sticks, and then coming back days later.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I can't even remember if we need secondses in order for someone to be warned.

Ten people have to agree that a Buffista should be warned about behavior.

I don't usually post in Bitches, I lurk sometimes, but I've observed teeth gnashing and with the posts all laid out in a group, I agree that there is a pattern of behavior that is upsetting and that a warning is in order.

I do hope that Dylan will come into Bureau so we can discuss what it is that is upsetting so he'll understand it better and perhaps curb his posting style (using notepad helps immensely when you're not sure if what you're putting in the box will be received the way you mean) so that he can continue to enjoy the community.

I know it's embarassing to get called on posts, I've been there, certainly, but it comes down to how much you care about the community and the people within it, if it's a lot, then a little embarassment won't hold one back from trying to work it out and make some amends and a genuine effort to think about the words in the box and how they may affect others before tapping the Post Message button, yeah?

HOLY RUN-ON BATMAN! Sheesh. See, posting before coffee can result in crap posting as well.

We have had good results from warnings, haven't we? That is, a poster(s) who didn't understand that he/she was rubbing people the wrong way being warned, and then coming back to be a good, regular and valued poster?

I, too, don't really post in Bitches, and I rarely can keep up anymore. However, I did read through the links, and agree with the warning. I hope it can get results such as Allyson describes above.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Even though I was offline for this latest incident, I'll add my voice to the chorus of seconds. Like Kat, I see a disruptive pattern of behavior that attempts to deal with in-thread have not been able to resolve.
