All is well that ends in pizza.

Nilly's comfort is of utmost importance.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Of course it should be up to Nilly, but personally, I don't think it's any more stalkerish to point to his posts than it is to, say, have a thread dedicated to the man.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Well, the thread is about his work. His posts aren't, necessarily. I mean to say that "what Tim ate for dinner" isn't really covered under the Minearverse topic, but it's perfectly legitimate for him to post about. Or something like that. So, a little more stalkerish.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

As a matter of process, just because an offensive post is deleted, doesn't make it any less in existence and doesn't rule out it being brought here?

Hypothetically?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I don't equate deletion with apology, and have asked for one in-thread.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

the first step is to handle it in thread. Just keep in mind that deleting and or refraining from posting is "stopping" we cannot mandate apologies. We can choose to ignore and/or block.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

It is being dealt with in-thread at the moment. Hopefully it can be resolved there.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I am not sure where whatever happened happened and I have about 30 seconds where my brain is NOT DEAD.

Anyhow, I wanted to say, Aimee and Jessica, that in general, deletion doesn't equate with apologizing (and, hell, I could argue that apologizing does not equate with asking for forgiveness). So deleting something isn't necessarily a resolution to a problem.

Sure I get what msbelle is saying about legislating forgiveness and I agree. But, I guess I think deleting is just not a cure-all for offensive behavior.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

On the flip side, pursuit of an apology can become disruptive in its own right, as the situation that resulted in Madrigal's lengthy absence illustrated. I think the primary concern of the board as a whole when offensive behavior occurs should be that it isn't repeated. There may not be an easy solution for the hurt feelings and outrage that result from the initial offense.
