Yes. Men like sports. Men watch the action movie, they eat of the beef, and enjoy to look at the bosoms. A thousand years of avenging our wrongs and that's all you've learned?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I do not like the idea of having discussion of the same thing in two places at one time, though

Yes.

There shouldn't be a choice. There should be a place, so people who are looking to talk know where the b.org talkers are.

Right now, I'm leaning towards a blackfont in the Firefly thread (all things Firefly -- people have been talking about the movie there, Cindy -- it's not just about the TV show right now), and closing of the Spoiler thread.

If you wanted to talk general Buffy but hadn't seen the latest ep -- yous stayed out of the show thread until you were prepared. This is much the same.

Whitefonting some seems like a conciliatory gesture (go team social lube), but is probably overdoing it.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Yeah, I think we ought to be able to talk about the movie straight-up and immediately in the Firefly thread. (Isn't that what we did for LotR?) Maybe with a nice big reminder on Thursday that as of Friday there will be movie discussion there and so people should unsub if they don't want to read it.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

After reading through the discussion here, that sounds best to me. Natter for anticipatory squeeing, FF thread for full-on discussion, Spoilers for - well, catching up on earlier discussion I guess.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

What Brenda said.

And talking about the show for people who haven't had a chance to see the movie yet goes where? Boxed Set?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Well, if they were behind an episode or six in a show thread, I think people just waited.

What is even happening?

To sum, is this where we are now?--

Starting Friday, the regular FF thread will be all things Firefly + Serenity ?

There'll be no white font, even for HSQ moments in the film?

(am personally quite good with this, but keep checking the url atop my screen, because I can't believe I'm here)

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I guess I don't really care where the discussion goes. So, um, that's my vote.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Basically we treat Serenity just as we would a new episode of Firefly. It opens in North America and it's fair game. I don't want to futz around with various wf rules.

For me, this is key. If you've seen the movie then you would understand that that it will be very difficult to discuss anything without mentioning one of the HSQ moments.

[aside to Cindy -- You should have come last night. Surprisingly, the theater wasn't even close to full. They were handing out tickets on the street outside!]
