Veronica Mars: Annoy, tiny blonde one. Annoy like the wind.
I've only started watching the show (it's on a cables channel that I don't have. My friend T fell so deeply in love with the show, she taped it and made me watch so that she'd have somebody to talk with about it), so as far as I could tell I haven't seen this quote yet, and still I like it a lot.
[Edit: x-post with DX]
The head writer was interviewed at Salon and he quoted this line from a review: "The first [TV] show to ever try to blend 'Heathers' and 'Chinatown.'"
Veronica Mars: Nancy Drew, Heathers, and Chinatown
'Buffy meets chinatown' is how I always describe to friends. Do I have to make a speech after a successful vote?
so am I late to the title thread party? (sigh)
Do I need to start the discussion of the Fall TV thread?
You should make a proposal -- a little more detail than upthread -- for what you want. The seconders will be here anon, I'm sure.
Oh, you mean I need to add specifics? Whoever would have thunk it. oh my, I guess I do need hand-holding! :-)
Here's my proposal that I think needs discussion:
I would like to become a bit more involved in some of the TV discussions here, but I can't get to Natter in time for anything I have to say to mean anything. I know there are/have been discussions about thread proliferation and when individual shows need threads. I am interested in further discussion that may help address various peoples' needs/wants.
Embedded in this are two options as I see them: 1) A Fall TV thread which would cover new series that debut September, October, or November; or 2) a New Series Thread that could encapsulate all the new series airing from September 1, 2005-August 31, 2006.
The second option could capture discussion of "Prison Break", "Reunion", mid-season replacement series, and summer series.
I know a thread for Option 1 may be short-lived, however, knowing y'all buffistas, we might be on thread #4 by the time Christmas comes.
So essentially the two options proposed differ in terms of what folks may most desire: long-running threads (option 2) or more concentrated discussion (option 1). Neither thread, in my view, would cover continuing series.
Seconded, with a preference for option #2.
That's a lot to chew on. But I'll Second because I think somewhere in there is an option that might work.
Hmmm, if we go with option #1 -- it looks like the last Fall series to premier, debut in the first week of October.
But Option #2 is very interesting too.
