Actually, I want to say that "here is the link to leap over the Wrong Coast Watch-and-Post" is where Nilly first became a verb. Am I right??

So, since today was full of TAing mess and bureaucracies (and it will continue to be like this at least unil Thursday) and a mess-up with my HP6 order (which, again, means I have no book until Thursday), I let myself indulge in some Buffista History meMeME (and then, some more me) fun. My head is now at least 17 times bigger than before I started, which will probably make going through doors, finding new glasses and brushing my teeth quite an effort (not to mention, my poor little neck). However, this is what I found, in my search through the Archives:

The first use of "post watch-and-post posts" was in Nilly "Nillytown" Oct 16, 2002 2:39:40 am PDT , so well after we settled in b.org. It came to be thanks to a discussion in, where else, the bureaucracy thread, about similar topics, around Noumenon "Bureaucracy 1: Like Kafka, Only Funnier" Oct 11, 2002 8:31:33 pm PDT .

My verbification (if that's a word, and I still cannot believe somebody uses my name when I'm not present, let alone, well, the head-embigenning things that I sometimes see around here) started much earlier than that. As far back as TT, in Buffy 8: We Mock You With Our Monkey Pants:

Is this it? Are we done?

You mean do a Nilly? Dana just posted a spikefic a few back, and Elena did the beginning of her Tara POV even more recently.

And then:

Is this it? Are we done?

I'm not quite up to Nillying it, but keep your eyes on the fic site

I like it! A new verb, "to Nilly".

And also, um, on topic - I don't really have an opinion, since the actual on-topic topic is not something that can apply to me in any way, what with the whole different timezones, TV channels and TV seasons. And myMyMY very huge head.

NILLY!

I love your Nilly-ness.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I rule! Not as hard as Nilly, but I'm way chuffed to be identified as the coiner of the term.

As someone who has long been scrolling past the Stargate discussion in Boxed Set, I never thought it needed its own thread. Of course, now that I'm actually watching SG-1 and Atlantis, I no longer need to scroll and sigh, which is nice.

It's probably too late for seconding Gus's proposal, but I would like to see BSG and SG-1 moved out of Boxed Set. Alas, it doesn't seem like there's all that much support for it.

I think the 48 hours has passed, and he's pulled away from it, but I think he didn't make the above suggestion -- it was BSG and SGA, IIRC.

What is even happening?

Wolfram, if we take what DX found into account DXMachina "Bureaucracy 3: Oh, so now you want to be part of the SOLUTION?" Jul 16, 2005 7:52:45 pm PDT there could be ~12 hours left. You and Noise are the only seconds to date, though.

Scratch that. It's past. I mathed wrong. That's what happens in between pages--days disappear. Just as the HBP readers.

Oh, never mind. You caught it.

No problem, I wasn't looking to reopen it. I just wanted to post some support for Gus who didn't really get the love over the weekend. Well at least not here. I'm not privy to his other weekend activities.
