Oh! I'm about to make a B&N.com purchase -- are they one of our affiliates?
t edit And I see by actually looking on the links page (duh, Teppy) that they aren't. Bummer.

And I can't remember what the deal was -- if they rejected us, of if I just didn't do it (yet). I'll look into it.
Hmm. Interesting question. How relevant is relevant? Is it something we could just post in one place?

I don't know -- it's a culture shift, but it could be valuable to shoppers and us.
I feel pretty eh about it. I'm the one who doesn't really like the affiliation at all, and though I caved on that, I'd probably prefer not to see regularly what I view as essentially intrusive advertising.
OTOH, I'd hate to be the one standing in the way of Buffistas saving the cash.
I don't usually use the affiliate links, but I wouldn't object to one post a week in Press that just said "these are the deals we've been offered." It's a little tacky, sure, but I know this is a fairly expensive site to run and ifr one ad a week can help that, great.
I know some people object to Amazon over the one-click ordering thing -- is that something we need to consider?
That summary post might be the simplest way to do it -- what's the lifespan on the specials, Jesse? Either combine everything into a weekly post, or just pick a day and post whatever's active at that point -- more than once a week would be a lot.
I'm one of the Amazon grumblers, and I deal with it by not shopping there.

I think they vary, but I don't really look that close.
I do figure that anyone who doesn't like Amazon will just not shop there. Actually, this is why I kind of wish everyone could just get the email -- hate Amazon? delete unread.
What kind of specials are these? I have an affiliate account and I never get emails with specials. Or maybe I opted out a while back and don't remember?
Like the camera and discs I posted in Tech last night.
Jesse, B&N was having problems managing their affiliate program about the time you were signing up. My husband had to apply a couple of times, iirc, though they say they have the bugs worked out now.
