Yeah, I could do that, but I'm paralyzed with not caring very much.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Why is describing the past more important than describing the present?

It's not more important. I'm positing that it contains more information because it doesn't simply denote what we are now, but provides a historical starting point and lets the reader infer the rest.

I do like Allyson's shameless pitch, though.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

How does putting (for instance) the word originally in make it have less information than without it?

Our wings are not tired.

Does that invalidate my logic in any way?

No. Just that your statement seemed to refer to the board while the B.org statement refers to the community.

Originally a community dedicated to discussions of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel and Firefly with humor, intelligence and obsessiveness. Read our FAQ, then join the fun.

This doesn't really reflect the original community while it does reflect the origins of the board.

I'm just confusing myself here.

Steph's was quite lovely.

Although I am in the change is evil camp it won't make me cry to change. The only times I go to the Home Page would be to subscribe to a thread, or if I'm posting away from home. The board description probably should be helpful to new users and not just nostalgic for old farts like me.

By some lights, we weren't originally discussing Angel either, were we? You just draw your line earlier than I do.

I can't recommend the wayback machine highly enough.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Originally, we were just about Buffy. But I think the casual observer can pick that up from "buffistas."

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

I like Allyson's version.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Change is scary. Also evil.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

We should have a cage match between the real old timers (Dana, people named Connie, Holli, etc.) and new people (ID numbers over 1500).
