Ugh. Who were the ad geniuses that...you know. The Fray has a similar procedure of editorial recognition that is more than a little creepy and wrong-- and their forum content is not that great for such a big site.

The status is NOT quo.
I hereby propose that we have an award for "Buffista that is So Very Much Cooler Than All Other Buffistas" and we should vote on it and then make it a permament part of the winner's tag. Oh, and we should do it every month, like Buffista of the Month. And we should list the nominees and make them all come out on the stage together when we announce the winner so that the rest have to do the walk of shame off the board, or possibly (when the nominees aren't quite as cool as they are most months) we should just give the awards in the audience to save valuable time and bandwidth.
Also, then we should open a thread just for the winners called "Cool Buffistas" and we could come up with clever new thread names every time it turns over like "Even My Tagline Thinks You're Lame".
