So we are going with the rule that No preference votes only count towards the quorum issue, and that when deciding the actual issue, it is only the yes and no votes that matter, even if No preference has more votes than yes or no, right?
Correct. The only purpose for it is to allow people who don't have a preference to chip in toward the minimum vote total, thereby shutting us up on the issue, one way or the other, for six months.
And I really think that's important.
Yes. It's the real point of voting.
I've been no preferencing ever since we started voting.
I have a question that could be shot down or may have already been discussed. When voting takes place, is there any way to put it in the banner on the website?
If this proves to be a technical problem and/or not wanted, I'm not wedded to this idea.
le nubian, voting is already going on. We always announce voting time, and link the ballot in the Press thread. The vote is here: Jon B. "Sunnydale Press" Oct 19, 2004 4:16:56 pm PDT
yeah, I found out about voting and I already voted, but I'm wondering if there are others like me who may not know exactly when voting takes place and would benefit from a banner notice.
I think we should have a banner space for all sorts of urgent stuff so it's up in your face.
Contradicting myself, I also think that people who care should sub to/read Press, so those that don't care have a way of avoiding it entirely.
Oh, oh, I bet I know what ita's going to say.
Press exists so people, among other reasons, will know what's going on with the board, like scheduled downtimes and voting. Subscribe to Press! It's low-traffic and less filling!
Edit: stupid x-post.
I bet I know what ita's going to say.
stupid x-post.
I think the time stamp proves that you were indeed reading my mind I am predictable.
