Spike: I'm not a monster. Xander: Yes! You are a monster. Vampires are monsters! They make monster movies about them! Spike: Well, yeah. Got me there.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

When I email Simon directly, he'll remove links. But the problem is, their reason for being is to post news, and people (Joss and Tim) do post big ass news here, from time to time. We can ask our own registered users to not go off and post there. But if Joss comes in and says, "Hey, I'm writing the Buffy movie right now, and it's fucking great!" Then we send him a server bill.

Or something. That's all we can do.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Yup. The most effective (and baby-with-bathwaterish) thing to do would be to stop having news.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Those ingrates. Deactivate the VIPs until they take a freaking breather, already!

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

It's a pragmatic solution, to be sure.

I need a new tagline.. submissions are accepted.

What if a general big mouth, non-stompy type said it, very nicely?

What if a newbie said it. The reasoning is quite valid.

(I completely understand, you don't need more of me right now. A trickle is OK a gushing waterfall bad.)

What is even happening?

I think maybe NAFDA needs clarification/updating in the FAQ. I noticed peter wiggin asking Tim in the Minearverse thread, if he'd seen Wednesday night's Angel episode. ita then reminded him we can't discuss it in there, so that we don't spoil others.

The FAQ entry for NAFDA currently reads:

Q. NAFDA? Is that an international Buffista treaty?
A. Ummm..... No. It's the North American Free Discussion Area. We have many posters who aren't from North America and are therefore half a season or more behind. In order to keep them unspoiled, we limit discussion of current episodes to specific threads. These are the NAFDA threads. If it's not labeled as a NAFDA thread, don't talk about current episodes in it. We also ask that you don't discuss one show's current season in another show's topic without whitefont, because some people are on tape delay. This means that events from the current season of Buffy should be whitefonted in the Angel topic and vice versa.

How about changing that last sentence to:

This means that events from the current season of Angel should be whitefonted in the Minearverse and Lovesick My Ass topic and vice versa. Please note, the Buffy thread is no longer NAFDA. It's safe for anyone whose seen all seven seasons of BtVS. Many of these posters haven't seen our other shows, so discussion of current TV in the Buffy thread is also out of bounds.

Feel free to concise that up. Also? Should we make some sort of reminder in the thread description of Lovesick My Ass, etc.,

I don't think the FAQ is going to help.

Shit. *I* glaze over when I read the FAQ. Too. Much. Information.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I read the FAQ to see if I can point people to it. It's far passed the point where I expect people to read it all and retain it, much less remember that something's even a question.
