Zoe: Planet's coming up a mite fast. Wash: That's just cause, I'm going down too quick. Likely crash and kill us all. Mal: Well, that happens, let me know.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

A mere suggestion. And I will try to notice if people are (IMO) jumping the gun next time.

What's jumping the gun? dcp mentioned that we had only 400 posts left at 10:30 pm board time last night. The first title suggestion was at 4:46 this morning, which was only about 8½ hours before the old thread closed. The problem wasn't that there was too much time, it's that people proposed too many thread titles (55, to be exact). How are folks supposed to consense when rather than discuss the current options, people just keep throwing out new titles.

What is even happening?

Maybe it's kind of a vicious circle, DX. It seems like we throw out a lot of titles when no one title seems to be grabbing more than a few of us. Then, we get silly, and just kind of throw stuff at the wall 'til something sticks.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

my favorite is still:

Natter 27: We already did a three cubed thing, didn't we?

Me too. Recurring and incessant references to three cubed are always and ever good.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

400 posts remaining seemed a reasonable point to prompt people to start thinking about names for a new Natter thread, given how fast Natter can move. In the event, it took about 38 and a half hours for those 400 posts to come in, with the last 100 posts taking about 3 and a quarter hours. How about we try a trigger point of 200 posts remaining next time?

Natter 27: An Unholy Alliance of Actuaries and Australians

How can I not get behind this??? The word actuary can scare off a lot of people.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I'm having the sort of work problems that I need to get out of me without using my real name. Would it be terribly out of form if I temporarily sockpuppeted?

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Personally, I have no problem with that.
