Wouldn't Google come up with that link as a search result if enough other sites have that link? Google doesn't have to hit us with their spiders in order know about us, do they?
I think that post got linked around in other posting boards. Didn't we determine that's how other posts made it on to Google.
Yes, but what's the point of noindex,nofollow if you still end up indexed?
It's my understanding that using robots.txt is more reliable. (See [link] I've never used it because I normally only need to exclude a few pages temporarily. For that, I use no index, no follow and cross my fingers.
Yeah. We got one of those too. Says:
User-agent: *
Disallow: /showthread.php
Then I got nothing, except to agree that having Google index those pages is annoying and inexplicable.
I would hazard to guess it might be worth a query to their techs, maybe?
