F2F 2: Is there anybody here that hasn't slept together?
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: New Orleans! May 20-22, 2005!
Home, tired, and sad.
Me three.
I was in airports or on planes for 13 hours yesterday. Note to self: Never book flights routed through Chicago.
Nice thing about a quickie flight like this one: we actually made it home in an hour forty, so we went to El Faro for bigass burritos on the way home.
But UGH, on the long flying airporty stuff.
I had a nice smooth direct flight, but the time difference still made it a 9 hour trip. Ugh. (Seatac has wireless access points out the wazoo, but NO INTERNET CAFES. So people sans laptops were out of luck. Fortunately, I had both Weaver and Famous Flower to keep me occupied.)
On the plus side, I got another row to myself on the flight home, which let me stretch out and go to sleep. Verrrrry comfortable.
We had a two-hour layover in Chicago, which wasn't bad at all. However, I always get a little sad in Chicago, like I should be living there instead of here. Not the homesickness I get in Seattle, but a sadness.
I'll find my city one day.

I think I was in Chicago for about two hours in the end. My flight leaving Seattle was delayed from 11 a.m. until something like 12:30. We landed in Chicago a little before 6; my 5:30 flight out of there had been cancelled, and they were going to put us on an 8:35 flight. The flight had already been delayed twice more and was supposed to take off at 10 when I noticed there was a flight into Dulles leaving at 8, and managed to talk my way onto that. So I got to D.C. at 11. I have no idea when I would have gotten in if I'd stuck with my original flight.
It almost took the bloom off all my wonderful memories from the weekend.
It's looking like I'm going to be at North Carolina School of the Arts at the beginning of December to guest lecture, and then I'm thinking of taking the train and hitting cities up the east coast and making my way to NYC for part of the holidays. I'm thinking I might to to F2F along the way.

Yeargh. My deepest sympathies, Lyra. That kind of trip sucks.

Hey, one of my best friends was there. I'm unclear on whether or not her boyfriend still is.
ND, let me know when you plan to hit NYC, and I'll happily meet up.
