I'm going to see to Wesley, see if he's still whimpering.

F2F 2: Is there anybody here that hasn't slept together?

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: New Orleans! May 20-22, 2005!

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Nilly does nothing part-way. If she is giddy, whe is REALLY giddy. If she is laughing, she is REALLY laughing. I love that about her.

If I only had a brain...

Lincoln is very, very big; I think the guards would stop you if you attempted to drive pitons into him.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

The Lincoln stature is completely ginormous. Somehow, though, not imposing - just a bit sad.

Ahem. I am briefly hijacking the thread for a Halloween in Seattle update, already posted in Press, because it has suddenly become urgent:

SEATTLEISTAS

Will go to F2F with this and email with this as well, but my signing/reading event at Barnes and Noble, University Village, is official for Halloween weekend. Laura Stretchenback is asking which night I'd prefer. I'm thinking the Saturday night (30 October). In any event, I want to schedule it so that the maximum number of people show up (obviously!) and also to maybe rock the B&N with a nice gothy little party, which Laura would probably love.

I need to confirm this with both the store and my publicist, so if people could e me with what date they'd prefer, I can get this set up ASAP.

Thanks!

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I've pinged Jilli, though I doubt she'll be up until later.

Insending.

WOOT! Thank you, love. I'm all excited. Back to Seattle, and UV, and all!

I may even want to buy everyone a nice dinner beforehand (St. Martin's still owes me the last chunk of the advance on the book).

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

(stumbles into thread, clutching cup of coffee)

Right. Deb. Seattle. Halloween. UV book reading thingamie.

(Drinks more coffee)

Oct. 30 is the night that most of the Halloween parties are happening, but I don't think that will have any impact on who I would round up to be at B&N.

Our wings are not tired

Drat. Fun will be happening in Seattle and I'll be in San Francisco that weekend.

ND, that sucks. It sucks twice, because we miss you on our home turf. But at least we're in LA the weekend of 24 September.

Jilli, emailed you; I was thinking of a nice early event, getting us out of Barnes and Noble by 9 latest, and off to whatever parties are happening. Nic's coming up for this one.

Also, can someone rec me a not too pricey but centrally located hotel in Seattle?

I can't even.

A couple of bids have rolled in for Toronto (following my tourist board contact being on vacation and having email problems), so I'll have actual data to discuss this weekend. This pleases me.

Appropos of nothing, it is one of those beautiful 72 degrees, sunny with a light breeze kind of days here in TO today that I'd like to bottle and release later at my whim. We often have days like that in May. Ahem.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Not downtown, but just off the UW campus:

When I worked at UW, we used to put up out-of-town speakers here frequently, and they always gave it favorable reviews.
