Do I wish I was somebody else right now. Somebody not... married, not madly in love with a beautiful woman who can kill me with her pinkie!

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Gah. This has gone too fast. I miss Nilly. Weirdly, as long as she was on American soil, I felt like I could just go see her anytime.

I didn't appreciate Nilly enough when she was right here with me.

This. So very much.

having met Matt, I'd bet you anything that if Scott had been there and met Matt himself, he'd've fallen under his spell too and spent the entire ride home nodding and saying, "You're right, honey, Matt does like carrots!"

And this.

I miss everybody.

But most especially this.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Nilly's heading home today - wow.

I also miss everyone, and am pleased to be able to use little bits of regional book tour as an excuse to see everyone.

In regard to the "cruelty-free chocolate" I think that threw everyone at first - it's kind of a fair trade, ecologically friendly farming thing.

Yes, but it's actually a bit more serious than that. In the Cote d'Ivoire, for instance, cocoa beans are harvested using child slave labour. One reason I go for Sharffen Berger is that they guarantee all their beans are picked by properly paid adults, and their coffee is from Central America.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Yes, but after a looooong day at work, zipping up the street heading Nilly-ward, hearing someone talk about "Kosher, vegan, cruelty-free chocolate" makes you pause.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I need pictures. I didn't get to meet Nilly and the only balm to that wound is the detailed narratives of the get togethers and pictures.

Now. Please.
