It's simple. I slap 'em around a bit, torture 'em, make their lives hell...Sure, the nice guys'll run away, but every now and then you'll find a prince like Spike who gets off on it.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Emily, does that mean you have decided to go? (Yay!)

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I know and mentally understand all the conservation arguments and everything, I still have a bit of an, "Animals in cages! Free them!" reaction emotionally.

Hil is me. No zoo. I very much would like to go to the Viet Nam memorial. And I want to go to the dinosaur -ages of man part of the Smithsonian. Maybe a few other bits, but definitely pre-history.

Used bookstores are good, as is Lush.

sleeping in and not knowing when or whence people are leaving and just sit around talking all day instead.

Or this. I can do touristy stuff another time.

Thrive to spite them

Has there been talk of a trip to Lush? I ask because I'm running low on a few things and if I could buy something there instead of ordering...that would be cool.

Eek. RL, definitely make sure that we're counted towards the Buffista room requirements!!

And, um...it looks like the monthly drag show is going to be the night of prom. So if anyone wants to come see it, I am NOT signing up to be in it (since then I'd have to get there early, and miss prom), but I could be convinced to get in drag and go there...it doesn't start until 12:30AM or so. So for those who plan to still be awake that late on Saturday night, it's an option. :) (18 and up, sorry Lizard)

You sip / say it's your crazy / straw say it's you're crazy / as you bicycle your soul / with beauty in your basket

The 4-person rate isn't for 4 beds, it's for 4 people. The rooms still only have 2 beds.

I did not tell them we had four people, and I don't plan to. Seeeeeriously.

... Let me exhibit more of my questionable ethics: meara, do they check ID? (I've never been carded; I look pretty old.) My only ID is a university card that just says "Undergraduate"; if they're lax about it, that might be enough. Just checkin'.

There's much talk about a trip to Lush/Georgetown. I haven't been, so I'dl like to go.

Basically, it seems like Saturday consisist of trips to the zoo, the museums on the Smithsonian on The Mall (of which there are several), and Georgetown. there will probably be several groups running about. the Mall and the Zoo are on Metro lines, Georgetown is a bit of a hike from the nearest Metro.

Well, it sounds like something's gone awry if they're not giving you the established rate for 2 people in 2 beds. But aside from multiple beds in a youth hostel communal room setup, I don't think you'll ever find 4 beds in a room. One king or two doubles are the standard breakdowns.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

Georgetown is a bit of a hike from the nearest Metro.

There are buses that go along M street, but I don't know how one gets to them if one is not coming from Friendship Heights.

Yeah, RLiz, I'd definitely say call back tomorrow and make sure we're getting the group rate then--and perhaps more importantly, that we're being counted toward the Buffista Total Room Numbers.

And yeah, they card. I could see, when it gets closer, if I'll know the door person, but it's iffy. I'll ask the door person I know how close they card--and how much leeway I get as a performer. :)

Bus? What is this bus thing you speak of?
