F2F 2: Is there anybody here that hasn't slept together?
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: New Orleans! May 20-22, 2005!
Just back from Shalom Hunan, where a pleasant-enough dinner was had -- I wouldn't call it the best-ever Chinese food I've had, but it was better than some, particular Panda Express. :-)
(Unfortunately, two of my favorite appetizers -- hot and sour soup, and fried dumplings -- were made with beef here.... aaaaargh!)
As for the company it couldn't have been better. I didn't get enough time with Lilty, but I did get to drive Matt and Nilly over to Brookline (and then lead poor Ed through the byways of Brookline as I tried to remember how exactly to get to Brookline Village).
But to make up for that, we got street parking like two doors down from the restaurant -- and in fact, we spotted the restaurant by me first recognizing Jon's car, then recognizing the group of Buffistas standing outside the actual restaurant door! Hurrah for dead reckoning!
Pretty much got in the door from the Nilly-dinner myself. Not enough time - simple as that. It was sublime meeting Nilly and Lilty, but I really wish I'd made the party. Large group dinners are great with people you've already met, but they're not so good for meeting people.
I did get a bit of extra time to talk to Lilty because we both had to book it to North Station. Dinneristas, I mainly checked in to let all you know that Lilty made her train. She only had 5 minutes to spare, and we had to walk from Gov. Ctr. as it was, so it's good we took off when we did.
Anyway, I had a great time, but wish it could have been longer, or I could have joined for an after dinner social event. Ah well, maybe next time.
Oh, and what everyone's been saying about Nilly? So true.
Gourmet grocery, lots of kosher. Upper West Side institution.
Also, I'd like to add, my wife's favorite place on Earth. Seriously.

That she's an undercover agent for the Cobra Commander? Yeah, we knew that. (:
Nilly totally rocks.

Well, sure, that's why you guys are here all the time ::cough:: fifteen blocks away.
Awww, man, I had just gotten my sleepy butt halfway though a detailed description of my extremely wonderful day, and then my finger slipped and I deleted it. I want so badly to tell all about it, but I think I'm just too groggy to do it now.
In any case, I'm home safe, sound, and very happy, and I'll tell stories tommorrow. Good night!
Catching up and enjoying all the enthusing about Nilly-meeting, and nodding a bit wistfully.
Am home. Details in LJ. Somebody--anybody on the east coast--before Nilly leaves US shores, give her a hug from me and tell her I'm glad I had the chance to spend some time with her. I'm sure that won't be a hardship. And thank you.
Hiya everyone.
I had such a fabulous time out West seeing so many people, meeting many new faces (and of course Nilly!), and I will write about it and post pictures tomorrow.
But you may notice the time stamp. East coast time? It's nearly 5am. I left on a flight out of LAX at noon. I arrived in Hartford at 3AM. I officially hate the Chicago airport.
Now I must sleep forever, or at least until Saturday when I get to go to NYC.
Oh, poor Kristin. Sleep well.

Lilty, next time that happens, try pressing the control key [ctrl] + the Z key. It reverses key strokes.
Nilly, I doubt you'll be online this morning, but have a good, and safe trip. Take a big bite out of the Big Apple (New York City's nickname).
