Everyone's getting spanked but me.

F2F 2: Is there anybody here that hasn't slept together?

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: New Orleans! May 20-22, 2005!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Ya know, I think this is the first time EVER that I have looked at a picture of myself and liked it. I am in utter shock.

Dude, you're hot. Plus, very warm, engaging smile.

What is even happening?

So I arrived, convinced I was .5 hours early, only to find I was about .5 hours or even more, not sure, late. Very disorientling.

Which legend has it feels like 7 years in beer-thirsty-Buffista time.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

We won't say anything about sitting around Saturday waiting, oh so impatiently, for beer instead of getting off our duffs to walk to the corner store. Ok, it should be said that Hec did this just about the time Java showed up with the sweet nectar.

Herding cats for fun

Java, Deena and I felt soooo guilty about being late for the BBQ, we nobly denied ourselves the pleasure of a soak in Java's beautiful hot tub out on the deck.

Note to self: remember to leave a trail of sand dollars from the beach to the liquor store next F2F

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Note to self: Laugh like a loon at Hec should the next F2F be in NO (as it should be) and he has to leave sand dollars all over the Quarter.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Nora, scramble her some eggs and kosher cheese, and let her watch. Translation: Nilly omelet. I did it in a 99 cent aluminum pan I bought for the purpose. She's extremely easy to please in terms of food.

Tep, love, that link isn't working for me. Asleep on my feet and having a very bad MS day and must go to bed.

But I am with Nora on the time issue. Mine goes back to childhood, being raised with the idea that taking other peoples' time for granted by being late for no genuine reason was high on the list of unacceptable rudeness, because it meant I was, in effect, saying "your time doesn't matter." Whereas I'm rather less intense about it these days, I've never lost the sense of insult that comes from people saying sure, I'll meet you at half past one, showing up at ten to three, and acting wronged. Can't deal with it at all, unless I get a phone call: look, shit happened, will be late, not taking your time for granted, just letting you know. That, I'm fine with.

Also, sometimes? LOTS of people get affected by having timing ignored. It makes a huge difference when airplanes are being caught, for instance...

Off to sleep a bit, ache a bit less, and hopefully decrankify. But I managed to get Betsy at least a small amount of F2F quality time, lunch with Bev and Ginger.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

There are people who simply have a worse sense of time than others do. Don't get me wrong, I'm gonna put my mind to it and do my level best to get to dinner tomorrow early*. But I have a bad sense of how time passes, how long it takes to do things or get places, etc. This contributes to my being late fairly often, and it's not out of a lack of care for the person I'm meeting.

Mind you, I am apologetic when I'm late. I do get that I'm the one who screwed up.

(*Which is to say insofar as it's under my control I willl get there early. I can make no promises about buses or trains breaking down, though.)
