This could take me out of dinner plans if they are in Somerville, depending on when the last train runs, or is there an easily accessible T stop?
Lilty, it looks like on Tuesday we'll be having dinner and hanging out in the Coolidge Corner area of Brookline - you'll be able to get a green line (the C train) into the city. Where does your train to Maine go in and out of? South Station? So you'd take the Green C line from Coolidge Corner to Park, ad then the red line from Park to South. I'd give about 45 minutes, because a lot of it depends on when the damn C train wants to lumber by.
Ooh, good to know that TJ's and Whole Foods have kosher goodies, I always ransack TJ's for party food any way, so I shall ransack as usual before my party on Monday (the 23rd). Now to plan what to serve! Wait- that's what I do in the store.
Apparantly this Saturday (or is it Sunday) is Tax Free Shopping day in MA, so I will be going to Target and picking up some new cookware. We need to weed a bunch out anyway.
Oooooo...Target! My favorite. We actually went there last night. Emily was like a little kid in a candy store.

Trains from Maine, being north of Boston, go in and out of North Station. Which is even easier to get to since the Green Line stops there.
NoiseDesign, Nilly asked that you send her your phone number so she can get in touch with you! Profile addie!

That was my first guess but dismissed it because I thought for some reason that there weren't non-commuter rail trains leaving out of North Station. So, yeah. Even easier.
Hmmm... now you've got we wondering if my ass was talking... Must check.
t edit
Yep. North Station.
Brilliant! Now all's I've got to do is get the day off. I ought to know today if I can finagle it.
Williams-Sonoma (cookware stuff) carries Scharffenberger chocolate too.
Nilly might really dig the lightning show at the Museum of Science -- it's got
the
van der Graaf Generator, which Dr. vdG designed and built, several stories tall and still going strong ~80 years later.
Or how about Old Sturbridge Village? It's an hour+ ride from Boston, but it's a unique glimpse into the 1800s history of this region, with crafts and animals and lovely architecture & furniture.
LAistas...
I don't know yet what days I'm actually going to be in LA next week...I probably will not get a chance to see everyone (and Nilly!!) until the San Fran BBQ...but then Cass and I will be driving back to LA on Sunday the 22nd some time, so I will be available for any Buffista gatherings on Monday the 23rd if anyone would like to see me. I don't leave until the 24th.
