Giles, if you would like to get by in American society, then you are going to have to follow our traditions. You're the patriarch. You have to host the festivities, or it's all meaningless.

Wheee! So much vicarious fun.

I don't recall seeing if the Sommervillians mentioned the USS Constitution or the less-historical-but-still-neat New England Aquarium closeby. Just more options for excursion settings.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

lexine, I just sent you an answer to an earlier question.

I have had cookma. In looking for a dedicated 8-quart stockpot in which to make kosher bean soup that everyone will be able to pig out on, I stopped at the local Ross and found a nice stainless steel one, with no price. I asked the nice saleslady, explained why I needed it, and she promptly rang it up for me with an imaginery price of:

Five bucks.

Doooood.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Dooood, indeed. Taking the nice lady a serving of soup, yes?

I very well might. Going to make bean soup with veggie stock and roasted garlic and I think both red and green organic lentils and have it be the backup quickie meal for Friday night, while you and Nicole and I are off having dinner out and feeding cats. I might even make m'jedrah, if I have any time whatsoever, because I adore it, and Nic doesn't. He's not a "mess of pottage" person, but I am.

I know I'm an odd sort of person, but along with meeting people and seeing people again I've already met? Feeding cats is right up there with all the squee-worthy activities that have me bouncing at the thought.
