What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

It's official! I'm coming to New York late Thursday, August 26, and leaving the evening of August 29. A grand excitement would not go amiss.

See, now, DC is easier for me, but ... that certainly goes in the pro column for making it to NYC instead (too?). That's me being grandly excited, by the way. It can be easy to miss.

Either way, glad you made it work for you! (See, an exclamation point and everything. Excitement.)

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Allyson, I don't have your AIM name anymore. I'm ozzperk. At some point, if you see that I am online, can you ping me? Thanks, Lee

I just found a reason to choose Minneapolis. It's like being in an episode of The Weekenders.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled excitement.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Oh, man. I am very very very pleased.

I stopped at Whole Paycheque (real name, Whole Foods) and got into a very long conversation and partial tour of the place with the head of the cheese department.

All SORTS of glorious yummy things are OK for Nilly to eat, certified kosher and properly marked. Half the stuff in the vegan section, in the cheese section an absolutely gorgeous fresh-packed kosher mozarella, and, and, AND?

Sharffen Berger chocolate! It's certified kosher!

I'm going to drag Nilly over with me on the Friday morning and let her romp and pick out food.

But SHARFFEN Berger! Best chocolate on earth!

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I found out this weekend that I'll definitely have to cancel joining the folks in San Francisco for Nilly's visit, as a cousin's med school graduation is on the 21st and ensures that I'll be playing chauffer to my folks if Dad is well enough to go (and I'll be needed around the house if he isn't). But I'm still holding a faint hope in my heart that I can catch up to the proceedings in either Boston or Washington.

Damn, Matt. We'll miss you, and will hoist various glasses in your honour.

I'm putting together a simple cheat sheet containing all arrival and departure information, who's staying with whom, phone numbers, etc. This will be sent out to everyone attending, so if there are errors, let me know, yes?

"You see? THAT's what they want. Love, and a bit with a dog."

Boston! Boston! Boston!

(Still just a teensy bit excited. I have found out, however, that my grandmother's service is, I THINK the weekend before. Hoping this doesn't mess up time-off plans.)
