F2F 2: Is there anybody here that hasn't slept together?

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: New Orleans! May 20-22, 2005!

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Thanks, P-C.

P-C, if you're looking at this site, it's a bit out of date. (Subway fares went up from $1.50 to $2 several months ago, and taxi fares went up in May.)

If you're going into Manhattan, you should be able to snag a Share-A-Ride, which lets 4 people going to roughly the same neighborhood share a taxi for a flat rate of I think $15.

If you don't mind an outer borough location, I've got a sofa in Brooklyn you can sleep on. It's an easy trip to my place from LaGuardia -- just straight down the BQE.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

No idea what the BQE is, but thank you for the offer. I'll keep it in mind, especially since the words "outer borough location" also have no meaning to me.

I'm guessing that most, if not all, of the Nilly-related activities will be taking place in Manhattan, so staying in Brooklyn (my part of Brooklyn, anyway) will add at least half an hour to any commute. (The outer boroughs are the ones that aren't Manhattan -- Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and the Bronx.)

BQE = Brooklyn-Queens Expressway. Big-ass highway running between Brooklyn and Queens.

Gotcha. You've got a castle in Brooklyn, it's where you dwell.

Ah, of course. Total of five.

If by castle you mean one-bedroom apartment, then yes.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

It's a really, really nice one-bedroom apartment. I can testify.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

In re my earlier post - yup, I've seen those little kitchen torches - they're nice for creme brulee, gratinee-ing onion soup, etc. I still remember years ago, on the old Dick Cavett Show, Julia Child gratinee-ing onion soup. Only this was before they had the kitchen torches, so she pulled out a full-size blowtorch. Mr. Cavett was startled, to say the least.

I don't know if this would be useful for the F2F or not, but American Airlines offers group discounts on groups of ten or more going to the same place. more info here
