then why can't she ride in a car if someone else is driving? I'm confused.
There's a prohibition against travelling, seperate from the prohibition against electricity. As for the lights, if someone else happens to turn a light on, then a Shabbos-observing person is allowed to use it. (Also, there are certain things that you're allowed to ask a non-Jewish person to do for you on Shabbos, but you're not allowed to ask the same thing of a Jewish person, even if that person doesn't observe Shabbos. I can never remember which things these are, though.)
I'm so sorry to hear about your dad, Matt. Hope all is well soon.
Matt, I'm so sorry. Strength to you.
And since I haven't posted it yet, congratulations Nilly! I'm so excited you're approved and coming here!
Matt, hang in, sweetie. Hoping they get this sorted out for him, and soon.
Aw, Matt, that's too bad.
If someone is organizing Nilly activities for DC, put me on the list! It's not 100% that I'm going yet, I have to get a flight, triple check with my friend, and make sure I can have the time off. But still, squee!
Best wishes for Matt and family.
{{{Matt}}}, I hope that they figure out what's going on with your dad quickly.
Thanks gang. Right now his doctor suspects low potassium and sodium levels, but I don't think we'll know any test results until this weekend at the earliest. At least the spells don't seem to be physically stressful like they were back when, but it's scary to see someone zone out like that.
Just a quick post to say that the world's gushiest meara will have to wait for Sunday, with all my responses. Sorry!
Sounds good to me. A Tuesday?
This is regarding Disneyland. Tuesday should work for me.
I'll try to see if I can get us any special stuff. Don't think I can, but it is worth a try. I can probably slide a few folks into Universal Studios if I can swing a drive on pass one day and we all walk in like you're working for me. I'm thinking the limit I could swing would be 4 people and that number would include Nilly and I.
