a dare of some sort?
Sadly, no. Just a picking up of Realtive A from Relative B's home in ... er, Landenberg? and returning to Del.
Being dive-bombed by smaller birds on several occasions.
Gutsy little birds.

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: New Orleans! May 20-22, 2005!

Oh oh oh! Also, some rich taxidermist dudes imported African exotic ungulates to an island, went broke, and left the animals there.
You realise that the first time I read this I assumed they'd stuffed them first, right?
Also bald eagles all over the place. Being dive-bombed by smaller birds on several occasions.
Now seriously jealous.
They're more common than turkey vultures. Really! I saw, like, 2 tv's and something like 15 eagle sightings. Some of them had to be the same eagle. A spotting scope was available for one nest. Man, those nests are honking huge. The kayaking guide was saying that the nests can get up to 2 tons and actually bring a tree down from the weigh.
The dall porpoises are way cool. They look like little orcas. They played in the bow waves of the boat and surfed the wake.

'Tis true. Largest nest of any bird.
Well, don't they reuse the same nest year after year, and add to it each year? That would help account for some of the size and weight.

Yep. Though there are other birds that do so too, without creating such monstrosities.
I'm not sure my nest has 2000 pounds of stuff in it, and I hired movers!
There's a book of photographs of people's houses all over the world where the photographers hauled all the possessions outside and staged them, then took the picture. It's really cool. Can't remember the name of it. In the back is a collection of photos of toilets from all over the world. Fascinating. Like, people talk about the awful toilets in China, then don't describe them.
Weren't we going to have a vote on top two cities on Monday?
