The Democratic convention is the last week of July -- well before Nilly's visit.
But just in time for ND's, IIRC!
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: New Orleans! May 20-22, 2005!

Coming in and bitching us out after the fact seems out of line when this thread has always had natter in it.
I hope that this doesn't refer to my comment, because all I said was could we stop nattering in a non natter thread. That's not "bitching anyone out".
Vortex, I think Dana covered it, but that was a comment to me. I was the cranky butt, bitching, out of line person, who tried to confer administrative thread rules here. I am available for board meetings, family disputes, and brou hahas.
If the next narrowing is going to rest on numbers
I think the idea is to get some solid-ish numbers for the four final cities, but the final decision for the location is still by vote, so that doesn't necessarily mean the most seemingly economical (accomodation, touristing, travelling to) site will win. Just that people will have some good info. (that will include numbers) up front on which to base a final decision. Is my interpretation.
Right. I think more important for Nilly's east-coast schedule is planning around the Republican National Convention in New York (8/30-9/2) and Noreascon in Boston (9/2-9/6).
The former, because it will snarl traffic and be all security and delay and blah blah blah; and the latter, because Sheryl will be in Boston for the con, and I don't know who else, but I bet at least some Bostonians will be attending at least one day of it. (And if Nilly is into SF-cons, we can get her tickets too!)
Note: Noreascon is a conference, but a lot smaller and less traffic- and security-causing a conference. When in doubt, plan around the Republicans as the SF crowd is much more malleable.

Our annual family reunion is in Sept. Would you be able to make it?

I didn't think you were out of line, so much as would have preferred that you had asked nicely.

I got that- and still think NO is pretty economical. I just wanted to make some non-economic arguments before we got into the money stuff. Plus, Lafitte's is just cool.
OK. I misunderstood what you meant. And, FWIW, I think NO can be just as economical as the next place, especially with all the fabulous advance work ...
(edited to remove the double negative confusion)

But I wasn't asking anything. I was making an annoyed observation and then a sarcastic suggestion. My preferences differ from yours.
OK. I misunderstood what you meant.
Actually, I don't think you misunderstood. I think I misexplained. I usually do.
