Why is it so out of line to ask that natter be moved to Natter? 150 off-topic posts is a lot for a quasi-administrative thread.
Nobody asked during the actual conversation. Coming in and bitching us out after the fact seems out of line when this thread has always had natter in it. Conferring "quasi-administrative" status on this thread doesn't make it a Natter free zone. Nothing is happening so immediately that it needs urgent attention in here.
It takes like two minutes to scroll past 150 messages.
Except for where in the middle of it all is an important message from Fred Pete confirming that he'll count votes. I almost missed it.
It was funny and all, but let's please let it drop now.
Plus, it was sort of like dumping a bucket of freezing cold water on those of us who thought the whole thing was funny fun.
So when are we voting? Is that next week? I know ND is in Seattle, and the poll is being set up for, what, first and second choice?

I hope that this doesn't refer to my comment, because all I said was could we stop nattering in a non natter thread. That's not "bitching anyone out".

and it was/is funny fun. I tried very hard to make my comment lighthearted and make it clear that I appreciated the humor. I'm subscribed to natter, I like natter, just that I think that this one got out of hand.
I they're talking first and second choice voting, and picking the top four vote-getters for further consideration.
I think the way ND wanted to do it is have people pick their top 2 cities, and generate a top 4 out of the results.
The top four?
Huh. That's going to be interesting; honestly, even if someone asked me what four cities I wanted to visit on the planet (never mind just here), I'd be hard-pressed to put them in order after about the third one.
I'm-a gonna try, though. All fun cities.
edit: Steph, I totally got your reaction to the too-much; I'm one of those who really would love a food thread, because I can't deal with Natter. Far too busy for me, far too crowded, and it gets far too acrimonious. So I miss stuff that happens in there. But I'm sorry this one went on so long.

I think you'll just need to pick your top two for the narrowing it down round.
(Although, on reread, that may not have been your point, exactly.)
